Wera Tools British Kart Championships

April 26, 2026 - KNE Admin

April 2026 saw the pinnacle of national karting, The British Kart Championship return to Warden Law for round one of the Rotax & KZ2 Series

Some of world motorsport’s most famous drivers have British Kart Championships titles on their CVs, including Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, Lando Norris, Oliver Bearman, and George Russell to name but a few.

Round One at Warden Law saw almost 200 drivers competing for the top spot across a range of age classes starting from just 8 years old!

Not only did Warden Law host the first round, Motorsport UK is delighted to confirm that Sky Sports F1 will be broadcasting the Wera Tools British Kart Championships in 2026, the first time that karting has been televised on a mainstream TV channel for over 25 years.

In a significant milestone for the British Kart Championships and the sport, every round of the 2026 championships will be shown in an hour-long highlights show on Sky Sports F1.

Coverage of the British Kart Championships will additionally be repeated on Sky’s network and on demand on the Sky Sports F1 YouTube feed.

“This is a hugely positive step forward for the sport of karting as well as it being the pathway to professional competition. All of today’s current British F1 drivers and many of the pundits learned their race craft through the British Kart Championships. Not only is this a brilliant opportunity for viewers to spot tomorrow’s racing heroes before they become famous but is an action-packed and thrilling sport in its own right. It is where drivers learn the core building blocks of the sport, in a category that offers energy, excitement and strong competition.” Dan Parker – Head of Karting for Motorsport UK
