KNE becomes the UK home of the Carlos Sainz Kart
The brand CS55 Racing Kart was born in 2024, as a result of the collaboration between OTK Kart Group, the world leading Italian company in the field of the racing karting, and Carlos Sainz, current Formula 1 driver and protagonist of the main international kart competitions during his first years of career.
With the 2024 season upon us we are pleased to announce that Hunter Motorsport, based at Karting North East’s Warden Law circuit will be the sole distributers of the CS55 in the UK.
The partnership between CS55 has already proven to be a successful one, with multiple race wins at its debut during the WLKC Spring series earlier in March.
Hunter Motorsport, owned and operated by Rhys Hunter from his base at Warden Law, is himself a multiple champion, winning the Wera Tools British Kart Championship in 2021, before moving on to a team principal role.
For 2024 Rhys will be overseeing a host of drivers competing for him, all at the top of their game in multiple UK and European events, none more so than team leader and current British Champion Kai Hunter.
During the years, Carlos Sainz’s passion for karting has remained unchanged. The Spanish champion, during his career as a single-seater driver, never stopped karting, both as training for his Formula 1 season and also as a hobby.
The combination between the Italian manufacturer and the Spanish driver, is the natural consequence of the fact that Carlos Sainz has been driver of several OTK Kart Group brands (including Tony Kart Racing Team) during his karting career. A collaboration which leaded to several successes: in particular, CIK-FIA Asia-Pacific Championship in 2008 and Monaco Kart Cup in 2009 in KF3 categories, as well as the title of European vice-champion in 2009.
CS55 Racing Kart products, whether they are chassis, bare frames or accessories, benefit from the very high production standards of OTK Kart Group, which designs and produces every component of its products inside its own establishments in Prevalle (near to Brescia, Italy), in order to have the highest control on the entire design and production chain and grant the best product and the best performance to the kart drivers from all over the world that use the karts signed Carlos Sainz.
