kne SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP

KNE's popular hire kart race series returns with a difference in 2019! The series will give drivers the opportunity to pit their skills against each other in the highly competitive championship. At 1200 metres, the circuit is one of the longest and most technical in the UK which means that you'll feel your skills improving in every round of the series.

For 2019 drivers will also be able to register to score points towards the Sodi World Series (SWS). The SWS is an international hire kart ranking system which allows drivers to score points through our championship races and be in with a chance of qualifying for the SWS Finals. Each individual race within our series is classed as a SWS point scoring round with 10 highest scoring rounds counted out of the 18 available. Full information can be found at www.sodiwseries.com. GoPro's are back!  Capture your race footage and take home all the videos and footage you want!

The series takes place on the first Sunday of every month and runs for nine months from March. You can take part in the whole series or pick and choose the months you want to compete.

RACE DAY FORMAT

Drivers will be separated into two racing groups. This will be determined by weight category.

Qualifier 1:

Concentration and focus are required for you to acclimatise to the conditions and your kart. You’ve got five minutes to show us what you can do. When your time is up you’ll be directed to take up your position on the grid. This will be determined by your fastest lap time during this qualifier.

Race 1:

Hear the roar of the karts as the red light turns green and you start your first 20 minute race. Do your best to take the lead and stay in front until you see the chequered flag.

Following this race you’ll head back to the briefing room for the results so far. The karts are allocated in a reverse order for the second round. Therefore if you finished 1st in Race 1, you’ll be given the kart that finished last for round two, 2nd place will be given the second last placed kart and so on.

Qualifier 2:

Get in the zone again as you leave the pit lane and start your second 5 minute qualifier.

Race 2:

Once you’ve been placed on the grid you’ll start your second 20 minute race.

Your overall points total will be determined by your finishing position in each race.
